It Was a Perfect Morning and the Bite Was Early

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE A GOOD MORNING OF WALLEYE FISHING IN MICHIGAN

We arrived at the launch early in order to beat the crowds. Luck had it that the walleye bite was hot right at dawn. We had nine fish in the box before eight o’clock. An Anti-freeze colored, red sickle hook jig head, along with an Arkansas Shiner Finn-S Minnow was the ticket and caught most of the fish of the day. The garbage fish haven’t moved into the river and it makes for great fishing. We were headed back to the launch by ten thirty with our limits of good eater sized walleye. The biggest fish of the day was twenty three and a half inches.
